Gold award at Visuelt 2017 in illustration/poster category, for my work on B-open 2016! Thanks to the Visuelt jury, Grafill and Linda Soh Trengereid, project leader at B-open. A time consuming piece, both concerning idea development and drawing process, and I'm super happy for this recognition. And having been part of the great group of nominee competitors and diploma winners in the same category. Check out more info at www.grafill.no
Using my self as a reference for drawing both a man and a woman. In the drawings you can see traces of my quite long torso relative to my legs. Even when wearing a skirt.
Use chopsticks, when you don't bother looking for your ski-poles.
My very first separate exhibition! The opening was a blast, and thank you to everyone that came. Result from funding both from Bergen Kommune (new technical equipment) and Grafill (research and drawing).
Thank you so much, Bergen :D
Me, Ann-Kristin Stølan, Fredrik Rysjedal and Raquel Maia Marques recently moved in at Magnus Barfots gate 25 in Bergen as a collaborative work studio we call Pamflett. Not only that, we've also started our own gallery for visual art that exist in the realm between art and design. We used the better part of last month to renovate the gallery room and had our first exhibition opening 19th of may; «Arkiv» by Håkon Holm-Olsen. It will be open for visitors at weekends the period of May 19. until June 6. We absolutely recommend everybody to come and see his superb collage based art.
A splendid third Bergen Art Book Fair this november. This time at Bergen Kunsthall & Landmark. Great talks, location and beautiful stuff in the sales area on the second floor. The two pictures below is from the artist talk «Å gi ut seg selv» (with Kristian Hæggernes and Tormod Haugland, moderator: Fredrik Stenhjem Hagen), and from the staircase entrance to the second floor; displaying some of the student posters from a typography course this autumn led by me and Åse Huus. Great work from the class BAV2015. Looking forward to next BABF already.
Selling artwork at Møhlenpris pop-up store, together with other illustrators, artists and photographers ( Katrin Berge Artwork, Tord Torpe, Truls Bakken (Dogsbestman), Renate Karin, Kim Nilsson, Marianne Gretteberg Engedal (Work of Skinkeape), Øyvind Rustad Johansen and Marvin Halleraker). A great initiative by Nobel Bobel, with the aim to create more culture life in this charming part of Bergen.
Borrowing the risoprinter at Bergen Academy of Art and Design, experimenting with printing a new one-page comic. Such a rewarding way of printing! But a little hazzel involved getting the colors just where i wanted them, considering riso requires printing each color separately, layer by layer. And then again considering I used all five colors they have in store. This resulted in some misfits, but also, thankfully, some more or less perfect ones.
Refreshing my german language skills while visiting Berlin.
A self portrait (not resembling me at all) made while working on a science fiction comic (called «Hashtag») back in the summer of 2014.
